Good morning guys! Today I welcome you with an amazing experience I had the chance to make yesterday. Based on the fact that there was so much stuff going on at university I haven't been out for brunch since about a month now (honestly, it felt like ages!). Because of that I decided that it's high time for a nice morning treat and therefore combed through the Internet, looking out for some nice new places. A while ago I discovered this amazing blog called Die Frühstückerinnen. Although I noticed that it's getting quite popular here in Austria I'm quite sure that not many of you guys will know it. But I tell you it's soooo worth having a look at it! I'm totally fallen in love with their page as it provides their followers with so many nice and lovely insider tips concerning breakfast and brunch.
Among their huge selection of restaurant and café reports there was one place which attracted my attention right away. It's called Ulrich and it's located in the 7th district near Vienna's famous Museumsquartier. As it seemed like this little place illustrates pure heaven for all food lovers I decided to have a look at their menu and man I've got totally sold on it. I completely fell in love with their breakfast selection and therefore decided that I definitely had to give this little special place a try. No sooner said than done, I called one of my best gals and there we were, sitting in the middle of their fabulous restaurant.
Although I'm a huge lover of sweet stuff I'm also a big fan of piquant breakfast and so I decided to go for the so called Tabula Rasa one. It consisted of some super delicate slices of ham, salami and Gauda cheese, as well as of a huge slice of super tasty Brie cheese. In addition they served a soft-boiled egg, a small pot of horseradish spread, some chives butter and a bowl of yoghurt topped with some granola (which was by far the best one I've ever had!) and some fresh berries and fruits. With all that they served a slice of brown bread, a slice of wholewheat bread and a super soft and tasty bun. My résumé: Definitely the best place for breakfast and brunch within the whole city! I'll definitely come back soon to try all their other breakfast options as this little morning treat was by far one of the most delicate I've ever had in Vienna. It's sooooo worth going there!
As my friend Barbara is a vegetarian she decided to go for their so called Big Easy. It contained some omelette refined with herbs, some wholewheat bred covered with cottage cheese and a slice of avocado, as well as some roasted tomatoes and a bunch of fresh salad, served with a super delicate nuts dressing. Of course I couldn't resist trying it, it has been super-duper delicious as well!
